The short version

Your books never leave your device. Folio only syncs your reading progress, streaks, stats, and the list of book titles so your account works across devices. The actual book files and their contents are never uploaded to our servers.

Who we are

Folio ("we", "us") is a reading app that turns your EPUB books into a gamified, level-by-level journey. This policy explains what we collect and why.

What we collect

What we never collect

How we use it

Only to run the app: authenticate you, sync progress across devices, apply your purchases, and improve stability. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Who processes your data

Deleting your account

You can delete your account any time from Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and all synced data (progress, stats, streaks, entitlements, and book metadata) from our servers. Books stored locally on your device are removed when you uninstall the app.

Data retention

We keep your synced data until you delete your account. Anonymous crash logs are retained by Firebase per Google's policies.

Children

Folio is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above will change. Significant changes will be surfaced in the app.
